Thanksgiving in Las Vegas

 VIVA LAS VEGAS.

Even though Trek was gone for Thanksgiving, I still piled the kids into the van & made the 5 1/2 hour trek to Las Vegas, NV where the Potters were celebrating Thanksgiving this year.  Trek has 2 brothers that live in Vegas & it's a good half-way point for the family so we all met up there.

Of course the night before we left I threw up the entire night with the flu.  Talk about being miserable.  I always laugh because it seems like the only time I ever get sick is when I need to get something done or be somewhere.  Luckily it lasted all night, but I was able to drive all day during the day without any problems.  And it never fails. . . Lorien ALWAYS throws up on road trips.  Sure enough, she threw up the entire drive down.

The kids only see their Auntie Triskin once every few years.
She lives in Alabama so we never get to see her.  They were
SO excited to spend Thanksgiving with her.

Opa & Oma gave all the kids little lights for their fingers
as a fun gift.  Bladen insisted on sleeping with his the entire
time we were there.
Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous like always.  Who doesn't love getting fat off of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, jello salad, green bean casserole, pie, & much more.

My favorite part of Thanksgiving?  Marie Calendar's Razzleberry Pie.
Tylee kept insisting that we shouldn't get pies this year because
nobody likes them.  We all love pie!  So we made her
sit down & eat a couple of pieces.
After dinner, it's a Potter tradition to go to the movies on Thanksgiving Day.  The kids had been SO excited to see "Wreck-It-Ralph" & couldn't wait to go.  Thanksgiving morning Cadence started throwing up.  I guess that itty bitty flu bug I had passed to Lorien on our drive & then to Cadence.  She begged & begged for me to let her go to the movie.  I told her she had to go 6 hours without throwing up before I'd let her go.  Luckily she was fine after throwing up the entire morning.  By evening she was her happy little self again & she got to go to the movie.  Craiger on the other hand, didn't.  He started getting sick during dinner & you could just see it in his eyes that he wasn't feeling well.  Sure enough, he was puking too.  SO, the 4 older kids got to see the movie with Opa & Oma, & I got to have a little date with my littlest man at the house.  Poor little guy.  I felt so bad for him.

After everyone returned from the movies & we gouged ourselves with more pie, the turkey started to take effect.  My kids started falling asleep one by one on the couch.  It was HILARIOUS.

The day after Thanksgiving I took the kids to the mall to meet Santa Claus.  They were really excited to tell him what they wanted.
Cadence practiced being Santa Claus with her brothers & sisters so they'd
be prepared with what they wanted to say.
They waited patiently for Santa to arrive.

HOORAY FOR SANTA CLAUS.
They were so sweet.  All 3 girls asked Santa to let their daddy come home for Christmas this year.  It made Santa cry & they even gave us a free photo for being military.  It was great.

After visiting Santa, we all went to Circus Circus for some fun at the kiddie park.  Opa & Oma bought the kids TONS of tickets to ride all the rides.  They had a BLAST.

Even though it was a short vacation, we had a lot of fun.  We miss the Potter Family.  Love you all.
