St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is Taya's favorite holiday for some reason.  So I always try to make it special since she loves it so much.

I started with a special GREEN themed lunch for the kiddos.

Green grapes, Pear flavored applesauce (also green), apple cinnamon fig bars, cucumbers, green fruit snacks, & mint oreos with green filling.  Cadence said she had fun showing her friends her green lunch at school.  The other kids had early out so they got to eat lunch at home.

And of course there's the big leprechaun treasure hunt.  I didn't have a lot of time to plan this year, but a wonderful life saving woman posted the BEST treasure hunt for St. Patrick's Day on her blog.  You basically print everything out & you're good to go.  Click here to see for yourself.  I really appreciate all her hard work in putting it together.

When they woke up they found a green basket with green eggs inside (thank you Easter for being SO close to St. Patrick's Day this year).  The first clue led them to the fridge where the milk was hidden.

We ate green Lucky Charms for breakfast & then opened our next clue.

Before they could get their next clue, they had to find 23 pieces of hidden gold around the house.

Then we got ready for school.  The kids were totally GREEN.  They looked SO cute.

Lunch Time!

Once Cadence got home from school we started back on our treasure hunt & got to play "Don't Eat Pete" which is now my kids' favorite game.  ha ha ha.

The kids also loved the green scaveger hunt.  They had to race around the whole house in teams trying to find green things.

And what would St. Patrick's Day be without mint chocolate chip milkshakes?

For dinner I made green salad, green mac & cheese, green jellow cubes, green punch, & green deviled eggs.

After dinner the kids found their treasure in Bladen's bed.  It was filled with candy, goodies, & green things to enjoy.  (I forgot to take a picture!)

It was a wonderful GREEN day.
